Dan Ivec
Dan Ivec’s drawings are a product of habit–both a meditative and imaginative routine that begins each day in the very early morning. His inspirations (or as he says “obsessions”) are medieval European marginalia, children’s literature, and the “endless spectrum of the world of self-taught art.” His wide catalog of work is mischievous but gentle, filled with with playful melancholy and wonder that begins with simple figures embellished with stories, and intricate patterns.
Currently residing in Pittsburgh, PA, Ivec’s works are rarely shown on display. One must experience this work up-close to truly appreciate the immense level of detail and workmanship of these pen and ink artworks.
