Jocelyn Belisle is a multidisciplinary artist born and raised near Philadelphia, PA. Her formal art training began at Montgomery County Community College, where she concentrated in ceramics. Belisle then advanced to Kutztown University of Pennsylvania receiving a BFA. While studying at Kutztown University, she embraced sculpture as her primary means of expression in addition to honing her skills as a fine art restorer at the studio of A. L. Klein & Co. for over 15 years. Belisle has exhibited her work regionally and state-wide at galleries including the Clay Studio of Philadelphia.
Belisle’s work is an exploration devoted to examining time and permanence. Her work utilizes non-conventional materials in unexpected ways. She believes that the physical world offers a myriad of materials and forms that can be mixed and matched infinitely and as such, Belisle seeks new meaning through new combinations of color, form, and space. Bold graphics and visually striking forms are a hallmark of Belisle’s artwork.
Belisle is currently based in Souderton, PA, USA.
